COMPANY AND TOUR OVERVIEW
-
At Maui Luxury Tours, we focus on creating intimate and personal experiences. Instead of large, crowded excursions, our tours are intentionally small and flexible—so you can explore at your own pace, ask questions, and truly connect with Maui’s beauty and culture. We take you beyond the beaches to discover the heart of Upcountry Maui—its local farms, scenic towns, and the stunning slopes of Haleakalā.
-
The spectacular scenery and unique flavor of the upcountry villages will likely appeal to all, while the kids especially enjoy the Goat Farm tour, watching the “butterflies on the water” (kite surfers) catching air and scoping the beach for sun-soaking turtles at Ho’okipa. Shoppers rave about the Paia experience.
DESTINATIONS AND ITINERARY
-
Our tours focus on Upcountry Maui—the scenic slopes of Haleakalā. This area is known for its lush landscapes, cooler climate, and charming small towns like Makawao and Kula. It’s a refreshing contrast to the busier beach areas and gives guests a chance to experience the “other side” of the island.
-
About 45 minutes at Kula Farms, 1.5 hours at Kula Botanical Gardens, an hour at Maui Goat Farm, 1:45 roaming and eating at Paia town, and 45 minutes at Ho’okipa.
-
We’ll break for lunch in Paia town, where there are great options in all price ranges. Several restaurants offer discounts to our tour group.
VEHICLES AND CAPACITY
-
Guests ride in comfort aboard our air-conditioned Mercedes Sprinter vans, which are maintained to the highest standards for safety and reliability. Each van offers spacious seating, large windows for sightseeing, and a smooth ride through Maui’s beautiful countryside.
-
Exclusively air-conditioned, luxury Mercedes Sprinter tour vans.

We accept a maximum of 10 passengers per tour, and we intentionally keep the load light. We average 4-6 per hour.
PICKUP AND LOGISTICS
-
Maui Luxury Tours picks up guests at all hotels and condo properties in Kihei, Wailea, and Maalaea, in front of the office or front desk.
-
Guest boarding is between 7:30 and 8:00. You will receive a confirmation text the night prior to your tour with a more precise time.
INCLUSIONS AND PREPARATION
-
We provide water, popular sodas (including sugar free), cold Starbucks, and other assorted beverages, along with energy bars and light snacks.
-
Personal water bottle and snacks (optional), sunscreen, closed toe shoes (for the goat farm), sweatshirt or jacket. Umbrellas provided.
-
Almost always beautiful – but it’s the rain that keeps Upcountry Maui lush and green, so be prepared. We’ll visit many regions of Upcountry, so weather will likely change. Temperatures are generally 10-15 degrees cooler upcountry than Kihei/Wailea.
DIFFICULTY AND ACTIVITY LEVEL
-
Make the tour your own. Enjoy the solitude and spectacular views from your private Zen place in the gardens, or hike the many offshoot trails and absorb the full experience. Shop Maui’s trendiest surf-and-style shops I Paia, or hang out with the locals in the island’s favorite eateries and watering holes. Hike the trails down to Ho’okipa Beach for a water-level experience, or let your mind (and the view) wander to the endless ocean beyond.
