Why is a private tour better?

With no crowds or strangers, you’ll be more comfortable (in our luxury SUV), and you’ll have more time at the stops you like the most. It’s completely flexible — hike when you want, stop at a roadside stand, and indulge your every whim during the tour.

Can we really swim at a waterfall?

Absolutely. Let us know if that’s a top priority, and we’ll avoid the “cattle call” crowds by heading there first.

How much time do we spend at the Garden of Eden?

As much as you like, within reason — to make it to Hana, time there should be limited to two hours or less.

If the road is 65 miles, why does it take 12 hours?

It’s a slow, meandering drive at speeds of 10-20 mph in many spots. Going slow is a plus — there is SO much scenery to take in.

What about food and drinks?

We’ll bring a cooler full of water and whatever drinks you pre-order in advance. Let us know what road snacks you like, and we’ll have them ready. No charge for drinks and snacks. We’ll either pick up a picnic style lunch along the way, or stop at one of the many roadside stands (they’re good, but like everything else Hana-way, they’re SLOW!)

Paia Town

Experience Maui’s most laid-back vibe in Paia town, once the hub of Maui’s historic sugar cane industry. After the sugar mill retired, the town transformed into the island’s north shore surf mecca and became home to the island’s trendiest galleries, locally-owned clothing and jewelry shops, and a handful of great restaurants. We’ll take as long as you like to stroll the two blocks of shops and restaurants.

Roadside Hikes (optional)

The Road to Hana meanders through lush rain forest alongside roadside waterfalls and dozens of trails. We’ll guide you to our favorite stops, and if you see something interesting you want to explore, just let us know. If a longer hike is in order, let us know in advance and we’ll key up a great one.

Pua’a’Ka’a State Park

Nestled in the heart of East Maui’s lush rainforest, Puaʻa Kaʻa State Wayside is one of the most beloved stops along the legendary Road to Hāna.
